The author of this article uses colloquial terms to get their audience's attention. They use words that have to do with the topic of the magazine article such as moves like Jagger and genre. The meaning behind the words on the page and the broadness of the subheadings, keeps the reader interested and engaged. The way that the text is situated on the page also has an impact on the reader. Having the words only one of page of the two page spread, moves the reader gaze toward that side to read it. The boldness of the headings and subheadings appeals to the readers eyes making them continue to look at it and want to read it. Although the size and font of the words are great and appeal to the reader, it would not be affective, nor keep the audience's attention if the page had no images or any other color. One thing that I don't like, however, about this template, is the use of many different fonts. The different font for the heading is understandable and effective, however too many fun fonts can lose the focus of the article. I will take all of this into consideration when writing my article, situating it on the page, and choosing extras to go on the page along with it. I would like to have the location of everything on the page be very similar in mine to create the same affect of the words having meaning, however I would need to use a rather motivational and uplifting tone and find a way to create that mood through the images and font of the items I place on the pages. I would also like to include tiny bonuses like five albums in the center of the second page in the double page spread template I have attached if space permits. Overall, I think this is a very effective way to set up an article about tips or helpful notes.
